9. Laser scanning
Servo motors, range measurement using laser, digital camera, very fast data collection: a few million points per one minute. The result is a photo realistic point cloud. It can be very impressive in visualization. Typical accuracy: a few mm through a few cm. Range measurement up to a few hundred of meters. Need to transform point clouds derived from different stations into a common coordinate system. Next step is to develop a 3D model from the point cloud.
